Comic for July 26, 2008 - The Other (Better) Metafictional Comic

GUH!

Comicpress ate my blog post/comic commentary!  Am so unhappy - it was long and awesome and EVERYTHING.  Now I have to rewrite it T.T

Anyhoo, this is the Very Last Comic.  Evar.  Ever-Evar.

Yes, I’ve been done this comic since the beginning of June, really.  I’ve just been too lazy to upload it.  (What?)  Incidentally, it’s also probably my favourite comic.  Mmmm, metafiction.  (And it was totally done before Trav did his (or, rather, we both did his) meta comic. Y’know, like it says in the post I made underneath? Not that you can tell that I posted it - it doesn’t give the username of the poster after all. Bah.

And, yes, I really do talk/think like this (and about things like this!). Crazy, I know. But whatever.

Since this is the last comic ever, I should probably say something profound. And now that I’ve said that, I should probably supply a profound statement so I don’t disappoint. The Profound Statement is as follows in the next paragraph.

Best Buy is totally selling the complete X-Files series (plus the first movie) for $169.99 (100 dollars off, if you were unaware) as a promo for the new movie! This is so totally awesome - I’m gunna get the X-Files for cheap! And that completely makes up for Amazon.com selling the Stargate SG-1 seasons for 20 bucks a pop (I had paid anywhere between 13 and 40 dollars a season)! I’m so excited - I gets more delicious, delicious science fictions!

I was gunna do a Friday the 13th comic, but I forgot. Was too busy working on the website for my new comic! eeee, it’s mostly done! See?!?

I’ll update the archives someday… but not today. XD Today I sleep.

Yes, at one point I did know the speed of light to that degree of accuracy. I have forgotten most of it recently, however. I do have plans on rememorizing it, just to say that I know it. What can I say? I’m a science geek.

Yes, more Trek references. I love that show! Though, if we were still doing this comic, there’d be a bunch of Stargate references too. Probably ones joking about Amanda Tapping’s crush on Richard Dean Anderson (which I sooo don’t blame her for… he’s pretty good lookin’ for an old guy. Yeah, I have issues), or the sheer amount of Sam/Jack porn there is on teh interwebs. More Sam/Jack PWP than there is J/7 PWP. Insanity! Unfortunately, boring insanity. PWP gets old reaaal fast… can only stand it if it’s a comedy and thus isn’t supposed to have a plot anyway.

I’m gunna shut up and go to bed now.

Didn’t update last week cuz I forgot to upload the files… and then kept forgetting. Like I did last night.

Anyhoo, by my decree, I didn’t lose the bet cuz I just forgot to post the comics… not do them. Besides, we’re starting a new comic now and I have no desire to make another strip for a defunct comic.

Er, oh yeah. I didn’t mention - the van Zandts is officially over when I run out of buffer… which is sometime that I don’t know. Trav and I will be starting a new, awesomer comic that doesn’t have the same limitations as this one. So updates are now restricted to Fridays… when I remember.

Oh yeah. And I’m working on one of my serial comics as well!

(ps: only updated index page cuz I decided to watch SG-1 (what? It was a cliffhanger!) last night instead.)

Its true, I always tear up when seeing sappy love movies. Also sometimes just tv romance drama. I’m pretty pathetic when it comes to stuff like this. XD But at least I got a comic out of it? I dunno.

Hey everyone look Nikki is crying, lets all laugh at her instead of me. Thats something we all could enjoy.

If anyone knows wtf this strip is about, please let me know. Cuz I haven’t the foggiest.

Also, Gerda being in two of my strips in a row is a total coincidence. She’s totally not in the next, like, ten or so. So ha.

And, yes, Nightwish was bloody well awesome!

ps: I did this at the very last minute and it bothers me. Especially since I have a buffer of, like, four completed strips or so.

And heres the big reveal of what me and Amie were talking about during the previous comic. I still think just making her paranoid is the best plot against Nikki possible, because not much phases her, except the horrors her own imagination brings to her. Well that and making her jealous.

It’s a perfectly sane conclusion. Honest.

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re (obv.) updating MF now. Isn’t that exciting?

I coulda sworn I had something intelligent and witty to say in this blog post. Oh well - I’ll remember it tomorrow and then promise myself to say it next week… and then forget.

On a non-witty, but still lots of fun, note, tonight (well, Thursday night, really. Since I technically update on Thursday evenings) I am going to the Nightwish concert with Gerda! It’s exciting and in a bar so super cheap too! Also, it is the long weekend! Whoo Victoria Day~
